Everybody has their own personal preferences when it comes to what type of firearm they carry for self defense.

Personal preferences are just that; personal. Everyone has their own likes and dislikes when it comes to what they carry for protection. What I might like, some of you may not. What some of you like, I look at you with my head tilted to the side like a confused puppy dog wondering what the hell is wrong with you. (just kidding.)

There are a myriad of factors that come into play when choosing the right firearm for you.

Comfort, body shape and capability, proficiency, legality of magazine capacity (for those of you who live in a democratic socialist state like Illinois, Washington or California), even budget. All these factors and more come into the decision making process.

It’s all about what is right for YOU. Not what your buddy’s opinion is, or what the popular hype in the media says.

I have 3 E.D.C.’s that I choose from when it comes to what I carry.

A Glock 19 Gen 3 9 mm

A Springfield XD 9 mm

And finally my Springfield Armory MC 1911 Operator in .45 ACP

My choices depend on various things for that day as to what firearm I will carry. Weather, events of that day, where I’m going etc…

The point is, choose what makes you happy. Stop listening to the hype of others who think their opinion is more significant than your own. In the end, what really matters is your comfort and proficiency with the firearm you carry when the time comes and SHTF.
