Juvenile shot home intruder, enraged Uncle who was armed with hatchet!

Authorities in Mississippi say a juvenile shot a man who attempted to enter a house with a hatchet.

When deputies arrived, Jerry Lee Robinson was dead. The juvenile is not being charged, at this time, because it appears he was defending himself.

“The bullet blowed him back and he laid, he fell, and laid right here.”

Rachel Cork said her 16-year-old son, shot and killed her husband’s brother, Jerry Lee Robinson, in the chest with a 270 rifle. Choctaw County Chief Deputy Lee Upchurch tells news outlets the juvenile shooter was home alone when Jerry Lee Robinson attempted to enter the house with a hatchet in his hand.

Upchurch says Robinson made an aggressive move toward the juvenile, who fired one shot at Robinson. Officers responded to the shooting on Tuesday afternoon and found Robinson with a gunshot wound to the chest. He was non-responsive and later pronounced dead.

Deputies tell WCBI-TV Robinson made threats against the family two weeks ago. The case will be presented before a grand jury in August.

The shooting happened in Bywy, which is less than 10 miles from Ackerman.
